TERMS OF THE COMPETITION


 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • This Championship is open to female amateur golfers who are active NYSGA Members.
  • To compete as a Mid-Amateur, golfers must be at least 25 years old as of July 15, 2024.
  • Golfers must have an active, up-to-date USGA Handicap Index issued through their NYSGA member club (no limit).

 

ENTRY INFORMATION

  • Entries: All players must register online prior to the established deadline (see below). Entries by mail or fax will not be accepted.
  • Entry Fee: $200 (Amateur), $175 (Mid-Amateur)
  • Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (12PM EST on Wednesday, July 3, 2024). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.
  • Refund Policy: A portion of the entry fee, based on the schedule below, will be refunded regardless of reason if the NYSGA is notified via phone or email (315-471-6979 or champs@nysga.org)

    • PRIOR TO entry deadline: Entry fee less $20

    • AFTER entry deadline: Entry fee less $50

    • WITHIN 7 DAYS of the competition: None

 

CHAMPIONSHIPS, SCHEDULE, AND FORMAT

  • 94th NYS Women's Amateur - Stroke Play, 54 Holes
    • Sunday, July 14: Practice Rounds

    • Monday, July 15: Rounds 1&2 (36 Holes) - Cut after 36 holes to low 30 & ties

    • Tuesday, July 16: Round 3 (18 Holes)

  • 15th NYS Women's Mid-Amateur - Stroke Play, 36 Holes
    • Sunday, July 14: Practice Rounds
    • Monday, July 15: Round 1 (18 Holes)
    • Tuesday, July 16: Round 2 (18 Holes)
  • Ties: In the event of a tie for either Championship, a sudden-death playoff will be held immediately following play.

 

2024 U.S. WOMEN'S AMATEUR EXEMPTION
The winner of the 2024 NYS Women's Amateur Championship will earn an exemption to compete in the
2024 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, played August 5-11 at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

 

  

 

PRIZE FOR LOW JUNIOR (18 & UNDER)
A separate division/award will be given to the low junior (18U) golfer. This division will be played concurrently with the 94th NYS Women's Amateur, which is a 54 hole stroke play competition. This division is a Junior Golf Scoreboard ranked event. Junior golfers can also register to compete in the
2024 NYS Girls' 18U Junior Amateur Championship, held July 2-3 at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, NY.

 

RANKINGS
The 2024 NYS Women's Amateur Championship is ranked by
World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and Junior Golf Scoreboard (18U division).

COURSE YARDAGE

  • Amateur: 6,054y - par 71 (76.3/142)
  • Mid-Amateur: 5,411y - par 71 (72.4/130)

 

CADDIES, GOLF CARTS & PUSH CARTS

  • Caddies: A competitor may bring their own caddie or carry their own clubs. There are no caddies available through the host club. A player is not required to employ a caddie for any stage of the Championship. The NYSGA's One-Seat Policy is in effect (see NYSGA Policies below).
  • Carts: The use of a golf cart is outlined below. Payment information will be provided in the Memorandum to Players.
    • Amateur: The use of a golf cart is prohibited for competitive rounds (approved for practice rounds).

    • Mid-Amateur: The use of a golf cart is approved for all rounds


INFORMATION & PAIRINGS

Complete Championship details will be emailed to players and posted on this website after entries close. Pairings requests are not honored.

The NYSGA will be providing a complimentary luncheon on July 15 and 16.
